Il fiume di Treviso, dopo aver lasciato la città, attraversa paesi e campagne e arriva in prossimità della laguna. Ed è a questo punto che lo sbocco del fiume Sile in essa è deviato nel 1683 dalla Serenissima Repubblica con il "taglio" del suo corso verso Caposile sull'alveo antico del Piave, a sua volta deviato più a nord. I due fiumi escono così direttamente in Adriatico senza creare problemi di insabbiamenti in laguna. #Timk2
