Stefano spectacular, the most beautiful I've ever seen made by our latitudes. Eccellente lavoro |

Some more details on the equipment? I am fascinated by these images, but are completely fasting for astrophotography! :-( So you used a telephoto lens (Leica TELYT 180 f3, 4) on a canon 40d changed? |

Thank you all! I did not expect to end up in Editor's Pick:-P
The photo was taken from Forca Canapine (Park of Monti Sibillini). Amateur astronomers in central Italy, can be found in those places during the new moon for the excellent quality of the sky.
The object being photographed, remains very low from our latitudes, and for this a bit 'difficult to photograph.
The Canon 40D - I have used is amended-(produced by Koreana Central Ds). Cooled by Peltier cell, with a delta of -20 with respect to the outside temperature. Also the original filter is removed and replaced by one that passes the wavelengths typical of the emission nebulae.
In Astrophotography you make a lot of poses, from 5/10 minutes (or evenmore), because lengthen the exposure time stabilizes the noise and increases the signal. To do this-of course - is a frame that makes up the Earth's rotation and that 'chasing' the subject being photographed.
I try to do 30/35 put 8 or 10 minutes, to which I add 7 darkframe. This is then added or mediated by software and the end result produced with ps.
For example, to simplify the discussion, if I 36 exposures of 10 minutes and the medium is as if I held the shutter open for 360 minutes.
In addition to the telescope used with great satisfaction also the excellent Leica Apo TELYT 180 f3, 4 (thanks to pioneer Valerio74).
I hope I was clear and I thank you for the comments! Grazie a tutti! |

Very very very nice. As written by others is one of the best made by our latitudes: Ophiuchus and Scorpio do not get up from the horizon far from us! Ale |
