Come detto, mi sono trovato in questo studio fotografico con un set già allestito, per chiarezza ti dico che la sorgente luminosa era radente e posta di lato al soggetto, anzi leggermente più avanti collocata tra il soggetto e la fotocamera oltre ad un altro punto luce proveniente dall'alto, credo anzi sono convinto, che con tale situazione si ottenga un' illuminazione di tipo frontale, ciò comporta che le ombre sono più profonde, il contrasto è maggiore. Questa luce a mio avviso è corretta ed è un classico molto utilizzato per lo still life, perché consente una buona resa cromatica ed evidenzia in maniera molto efficace la tridimensionalità del soggetto.
Mentre, con la sorgente luminosa posta dietro al soggetto, proietta le ombre verso la fotocamera. Il contrasto che si ottiene del soggetto è altissimo, tanto da necessitare solitamente di una schiarita, da sola questa luce è difficilmente utilizzabile, può essere usata come luce d'effetto per aggiungere profondità all'immagine.
Detto questo sono sicuro che intendevi un insieme di punti luce sia da dietro che laterali e frontali, certamente tutto ciò sarebbe stato il top per uno scatto del genere.
