The whole gallery is simply spectacular. Images that deserve all the time to be admired.
But this is my favorite, for composition and colors.
You found yourself (with a bit of effort:-D) in front of a real spectacle of nature and have been able to resume flawlessly.
My most sincere congratulations.
A greeting

Silvio

Very nice, but I am of the opinion that it is worth it.
They say it was worth it just to those who have it done. If something goes wrong, no one would say, and then the "worth it" is false. Admit only one case where you can risk your skin: when what you shoot has an important information not otherwise obtainable, see reportage of war, massacres, unique and unrepeatable events (but I mean the type sighted an alien that I could kill) or other and I admit only if aimed at this factor and not the Pulitzer.
Then maybe I'm exaggerating, and the situation was not as critical, but from your story seems that it was.

Anyway congratulations.
Gianluca.

the problem of photography, is that it NEVER like reality. from the photo seems insignificant height but I can image that was not the case at all.

I have had vertigo in reading anything that has preceded the shot ...
You had courage mixed with a little 'unconsciousness (consentimelo) .... but it was worth it ... and you brought home even skin! !!!
Congratulations!

The photo is great, and your boldness rewarded you, but I do not think it's worth it, possible that you could not do otherwise? Change the shot, scene position, put off a bit '... Risking big for a picture is ridiculous, maybe I'm a wimp I do not know much, but extreme things you can do in safety, in a little' rescuers should add also the category photographers among those at risk ...
