Great shot of a beautiful wonderful person, that person is a diamond Bichenow (stictoptera bichenovii) and is a native of Australia, are subject to very quiet and you can reproduce in captivity after some small adjustments. |

Hi Mario thank you for your comments. I'm a native of Australia and in Australia most people call them Double-barred Finches. They are also know as Owl finches but again I have never heard a birder or bird photographer in Australia call them that. Photograph was taken 5 minutes at a local nature reserve where I have seen many of these finches. : ) www.logan.qld.gov.au/__data/assets/pdf_file/0019/122905/Eagleby.pdf Regards Brian |

Brian, great capture! Love the pose/expression, the fine detail, the color tones, and the setting. I thought it was a unique pose, and an intriguing looking bird. Not one I have seen before. Well caught in the moment and thanks for sharing. Wally |

Hi Wally, thanks for the comments and I think because most of my shots are taken in Australia sometimes they are mistaken for European birds that look similar or a called a different thing there. Good to see you've made it to 'Super' status, well deserved for all the effort to posting photo's and commenting on others. Cheers Brian |
