February 28, 2008 |
| From
this week, every week I'm going to select a
"Photo of the week", the best photo
between the images posted in this gallery! The
photo will be chosen between all the photos
posted during the previous week (from Monday
to Sunday) for artistic and technical quality,
and it will announced every Monday (with the
exception of this week, where it has been
announced today)!
The photo of the week 18/02/08-24/02/08
is: Great

24-105 IS Review on Canon 1Ds3 -
February 16, 2008 |
| The
24-105 is a very popular lens: this
professional zoom is versatile thanks to the
wide range of focal lengths and the image
stabilization; it has a good brightness, and
high end built quality. It is the ideal lens
for travel and landscapes, in particular on
Fullframe (35mm) cameras...

Phonescoping
- February 15, 2008 |
| Some
time ago, I wrote an article about The
Nokia 6120 Camera Phone and the progress
of mobile phone cameras: I was positively
impressed by this technology, but I did not
expected that it could produce acceptable
wildlife photos. I have been truly amazed to
see the bird photos of Tommi Laurinsalo, taken
with mobile phones and a spotting scope - some
of these photos are truly great, both
artistically and technically!
Give a look to his website (in particular,
I recommend the N73 galleries): Phonescoping |

Canon
EF 300mm f/2.8 L IS USM Review -
February 12, 2008 |
| Outstanding
image quality, rock solid construction and
relatively light weight: the Canon 300 2.8 IS
is one of the very best superteles currently
in production. Even though I already had the
600 f/4 IS, I have added this beautiful lens
to my lineup, because its small size and
portability make it a better choice when I
need to reduce the weight at minimum. Other
than that...

Forum: Thumbnails! - February 10,
2008 |
I'm glad
to announce that now it is possible to add a
small thumbnail to the photo posted in the
"Nature Photo Gallery - Comment And
Critiques" section of JuzaForum!
The thumbnail is the small image that appears
near the topics in the Photo Gallery forum,
and it makes much easier to browse between the
images.

Fabio
Pupin's awesome wide-angle macros -
February 08, 2008 |
| Fabio
Pupin is a talented macro and fauna
photographer specialized in "wide angle
macro" - many of his photos had been
taken with extreme wide angles (Sigma 15mm
Fisheye) and shows macro subjects into their
environment.
I highly recommend a visit to his website,
many inspiring and original photos! www.herpfolio.net |

Sigma
12-24 EX DG Review on Canon 1Ds3 -
February 01, 2008 |
| You may
be surprised to discover that I use a
relatively cheap ($690) Sigma lens for my
1Ds3. But the Sigma 12-24mm f/4.5-5.6 EX DG
HSM is a truly unique lens: it is currently
the widest rectilinear wide-angle for
fullframe, at 12mm, it gives an amazing angle
of view of 122 degrees! By comparison, the
widest wideangle zoom of Canon, the 16-35
f/2.8 II, has "just" an angle of
view of 107 degrees - an huge difference, that
has led me to choose the Sigma...
