Canon 24-105 IS Review on Canon 1Ds3 - February 16, 2008
The 24-105 is a very popular lens: this professional zoom is versatile thanks to the wide range of focal lengths and the image stabilization; it has a good brightness, and high end built quality. It is the ideal lens for travel and landscapes, in particular on Fullframe (35mm) cameras...

Phonescoping - February 15, 2008
Some time ago, I wrote an article about The Nokia 6120 Camera Phone and the progress of mobile phone cameras: I was positively impressed by this technology, but I did not expected that it could produce acceptable wildlife photos. I have been truly amazed to see the bird photos of Tommi Laurinsalo, taken with mobile phones and a spotting scope - some of these photos are truly great, both artistically and technically!

Give a look to his website (in particular, I recommend the N73 galleries): Phonescoping

Canon EF 300mm f/2.8 L IS USM Review - February 12, 2008
Outstanding image quality, rock solid construction and relatively light weight: the Canon 300 2.8 IS is one of the very best superteles currently in production. Even though I already had the 600 f/4 IS, I have added this beautiful lens to my lineup, because its small size and portability make it a better choice when I need to reduce the weight at minimum. Other than that...

Sigma 12-24 EX DG Review on Canon 1Ds3  - February 01, 2008
You may be surprised to discover that I use a relatively cheap ($690) Sigma lens for my 1Ds3. But the Sigma 12-24mm f/4.5-5.6 EX DG HSM is a truly unique lens: it is currently the widest rectilinear wide-angle for fullframe, at 12mm, it gives an amazing angle of view of 122 degrees! By comparison, the widest wideangle zoom of Canon, the 16-35 f/2.8 II, has "just" an angle of view of 107 degrees - an huge difference, that has led me to choose the Sigma...
