I've added the review of the

soon also the review of the 70-200 f/4 L IS. |

Asferico
23 and other news - January 22,
2007 |
|
My latest article has been
published on Asferico (n.23)...Asferico is one
the nicest Italian magazines about nature
photography, and it is truly an honor to be
published on its pages. You can see some
preview in the publications
page.
The PMA is coming (this year
it will be from March 8 to 11 at Las Vegas)
and in the next week there will be many
announcements of new cameras and lenses...I
expect to see the new Canon 40D and some nice
new lenses. If you are planning to buy
something, I'd suggest to wait few weeks to
see what comes out.

Above
The Clouds - January 18, 2007 |
|
I had enviosioned this scene
many times, ever since I'd seen the movie
"The Matrix Revolutions"...honestly,
it is not a great movie - but there are
some truly fascinating, dreamy scenes. Near
the end, Neo directs his spaceship towards the
sky...he pass through the dark clouds and, for
few istants, he stays above and endless sea of
clouds, in the sunshine. This is...

Noise
reduction - January 13, 2007 |
|
When I photograph birds and
wildlife, I often use ISO 400 or even 800.
Even though the recent Canon cameras are
pretty good at high ISO, there is always some
noise, in particular in the smooth, out of
focus areas. It is not a problem: with
Photoshop, it is quite easy to reduce the
noise, and I've made excellent print even from
photos taken at very high sensitivities.
Remember that, while it is possible to reduce
the noise, it...

Two
days on Sile river - January 08,
2007 |
|
It does not happen often to
know a person since three days and feeling
like being with the friend of a life...but
there is not other way to describe the two
days that I spent on Sile river, with my good
friend Fenice. Fenice is a young - and
talented - photographer, and a sweet
girl....she was kind enough to bring me on
Sile river well before the sunrise, and she...

Captive
Red Panda - January 03, 2007 |
|
This cute animal is a Red
Panda (Ailurus fulgens), a small herbivorous
mammal. It is quite different from the classic
stereotype of panda - it looks like a fox, and
it is just a little bigger than a cat (by the
way - it is also knon as "FireFox",
and it has given the name to the popular web
browser Mozilla Firefox). In nature, it lives
in India, Nepal and China, where it is...
