- The Canon 1Ds
Mark II is currently (unofficially) discontinued; the stock
supplies had been calculated to last until the
new 1. The 1D MarkII-N, instead, will remain
in production for some time, even after the
introduction of the new 1.
- The Canon 30D
is not the last APS-C camera from Canon. There
will be many other consumer models, and it is possible
that Canon will announce even an higher end
model, with specifications similar to the
rumored 35D (10+ megapixels, 7FPS). Canon is
planning new EF-S lenses, too.
- The price of
the 5D will drop various times during the
year. The next drop will be on April 01:
Canon will announce a $ 300 rebate that brings
the actual price to $ 2600! By the end of the
year, it will be near $2300.
That's all :-) My
suggestions: if you are interested in a Canon
1 series camera, wait six months until the
next 1 is available. If you are interested in
the Canon 5D, you just have to wait 1 week
to save $300 :-) |
