macro lens : the AF-S VR Micro-Nikkor 105mm F2.8G IF-ED.
This new macro lens, that reaches life-size
magnification (1:1 reproduction ratio),
incorporates the best of Nikon's technology:
the fast and silent SWM (AF-S) autofocus

Canon
30D, Canon EF-S 17-55 IS USM and Canon 85
f/1.2 II -
February 21, 2006 |
| Canon
has announced the "new"
Canon EOS 30D. This camera is just a minor
upgrade of the 20D; it is essentially
identical, other than a larger LCD (2.5")
and a slightly larger buffer (11 RAW). I am a
little surprised that the new Canon is not on
par with Nikon D200, at least in terms of
features and camera body.
Other than that, Canon has announced
another mid-range zoom, the EF-S 17-55 f/2.8
IS USM and a "version II" of
the
Canon EF 85mm f/1.2 L USM.

Three
Pages That Are Really Worth a Visit -
February 16, 2006 |
The
Sigma 12-24 is the first - and currently the
unique - rectilinear 12mm lens for 35mm
format. Have you even wondered how does it
look like on a FF camera as the Canon 5D? You
can see some real 12mm photos on the Axel's
Pbase page - the perspective is amazing! Martin
Krzywinski has created some very original
images with its new "HDTR"
technique. Give a look to his website: High Dynamic Time Range Images.
Ultra-fast photos are not a news,
but have you have ever seen an 1/100,000,000s
exposure that captures the first instants of
an nuclear blast? They are online at RapidNewsWire.com. |

Wimberley
Head II Review -
February 13, 2006 |
| The-Digital-Picture.com
has published the Review
of the Wimberley Head II, announced last
November. The WH-200 is a very specialized
head, created by the American manufactured
Wimberley (www.tripodhead.com).
It can be used almost only with super tele
lenses (for example 400mm f/2.8, 500 f/4, 600
f/4, etc.) and it allows to easily use these
heavy lenses, thanks to its unique gimbal
design.
The WH-200 (currently out of stock due to
very high demand) can be purchased directly
from the manufacturer's website, otherwise you
can get it at B&H
for $595. |
