I added many new photos taken with the wonderful 600 f/4 in these galleries: Arda cinerea (Grey Heron), Ardeola ralloides (Squacco Heron), Nycticorax nycticorax (Night Heron).

I'm truly impressed by the quality of this lens - the 90% of the photos had been taken with the 1.4x TC, and I got some sharp photos even with the 2.0x TC and with stacked 1.4x and 2.0x !

I have published a nine pages article about bird photography on the Italian magazine "Photografare in Digitale". You can see the preview scans in the Publications page.

The contents of the article are basically the same of the Fauna Photography that I published on this website a couple of weeks ago.

I added many new photos in the galleries: Ardeola ralloides, Arda cinerea, Egretta alba, Sterna hirundo and others. The majority of these images has been taken with the fantastic Canon 600 f/4 IS :-)

I'm working on the review of this lens, but it won't be ready until the end of this month - I'm busy shooting! ;-)

I added a new image in my Portfolio: the photo of a Common Tern in flight. The photo has been taken with my new Canon 600 f/4 L IS USM with Canon 1.4x TC.

I'm going to add other new photos to the galleries next days.

The animals are the most technically challenging branch of nature photography. To take good fauna photos, it is not enough to have a good artistic and compositional knowledge: you have also to know well the your subject and your equipment...the third articles of the "In The Field" if finally online : Fauna Photography :-)

BTW, sorry for the lack of updates - recently I have been pretty busy, and I have had some problems with a new lens (hopefully they will be fixed soon).

As I "predicted" in the news of March 24, today Canon USA has officially announced the $300 rebate for the Canon 5D and a $100 rebate for the Canon 350D. To get the rebate, you have to buy one of the items included in the promotion between April 01 and July 15, and then use the rebate form. More details on the Canon USA website. Currently, the lowest prices for the two cameras, on B&H, are $2895 for 5D ($2595 after rebate) and $700 for 350D ($600 after rebate).

If you are wondering about the rest of the news: just wait and see! I'm pretty confident in the "source" (no, he isn't the same "source" of the rumored 35D), and I'm almost sure that we will see the 22mp camera that I described at Photokina. Just wait and see ;-)
